About Us

The origins of the current day Fitness Zone started in 1987, when a trio of friends opened the World Gym in Beverly, MA. The World Gym became a fixture on the Gym scene, and flourished throughout the 1990’s. In 1996 the Fitness Zone took over the Cape Ann Nautilus & Fitness space in Blackburn Center, and became our second location. The World Gym was sold in 2000, and today the Fitness Zone remains an inspiring and vibrant part of the Cape Ann Community.

We have been owner operated from our start, immersed in the daily goings on of the facility, and membership. Our years of hands on ownership has allowed us to be uniquely in tune with membership, facility and equipment needs and maintenance. Our expertise has developed over 30 years of involvement in the fitness Industry. We pride ourselves on our diversity of equipment. We know what works, new or vintage, bringing our members the best equipment available. We have chosen all the equipment to give our members the necessary tools to achieve the fitness goals, for all fitness levels.

Gina is a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM since 2007, a Muscular Therapist with AMTA since 1993 and s Spinning Instructor with Mad Dogg Athletics since 1997.

Gina continues her training thru NASM, the Gray Institute, The Chek Institute and SCW. She is also trained in various styles of massage such as Sports, Orthopedic, Neuromuscular, Myofascial, Structural Relief Technique, Active Release Technique and Active Isolated Stretching.

Gina combines her knowledge of muscular imbalances, stretching, heart rate training, functional, core and strength training along with her enthusiasm and passion for fitness to enhance and better her clients. Gina is a competitive Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe paddler and ocean rower. She also enjoys snowboarding and cycling.
